What you will do
- Turn a brief into a short, verified list of UK firms worth approaching, so sales time goes on conversations that can become work.
- Check size and turnover from Companies House filings and published accounts, and say plainly when a figure is an estimate.
- Name the person who owns the decision, whether that is operations, finance or the website, with a verified way to reach them.
- Note what each firm runs today, from website to booking system, so the first message speaks to a real problem.
- Flag anything that would waste a founder's time: wrong size, wrong sector, recently sold, or already working with someone.
Must-haves
- You are careful. A wrong email or an invented job title is worse than a shorter list.
- Confident with Companies House, published accounts, LinkedIn and company websites, and you know where each one falls short.
- Organised in a spreadsheet: consistent fields, sources noted, duplicates removed.
- Clear written English, and you flag uncertainty instead of guessing.
- A few dependable hours a week that overlap with the UK working day.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience supporting a founder-led agency or consultancy.
- Data tools such as Apollo or Clay, used with judgement and a working grasp of UK GDPR and PECR.
- A feel for UK SMEs in professional services, trades or healthcare.
